Every meaningful movement begins long before it has a name.
Long before Learning Is a Lifestyle became a public movement, learning was already part of everyday life. It lived in conversations around the kitchen table, stories shared after church, books passed from hand to hand, and moments of curiosity that invited deeper questions.
Growing up, I experienced learning as something much larger than school. My great-aunt, who raised me, filled our home with stories, books, questions, and opportunities to wonder. Those experiences shaped how I came to understand learning, community, and what it means to grow throughout a lifetime.
Years later, one question continued to return:
How do we cultivate a society where learning naturally becomes part of everyday life?
That question became the foundation for everything that followed.
Public Learning Art
Founder's Reflection
People sometimes ask why I don't simply call this education. The honest answer is that education is often institutional, while learning is universal, and I've come to think those are two different things worth naming separately.
Many of the experiences that shaped me happened outside classrooms, around kitchen tables, on long walks, inside museums, during difficult conversations, through neighborhood stories, books, public spaces, and ordinary acts of generosity. Eventually I began to explore how we make everyday life more artfully integrate learning That question became Public Learning Art.
My curiosity coupled with the art of possibility leads me to create beautiful invitations for people to notice more, ask one better question, and leave every place carrying a little more wisdom than when they arrived.
A Different Kind of Art
Public Learning Art begins with a simple belief: learning belongs wherever people and culture already exist; whether that's a museum or a neighborhood, a coffee shop or a park, a library, a sidewalk, a conversation, or a quiet moment alone. Every experience we create is designed to help curiosity stay part of everyday life.
Why We Call It Public Learning Art
We call it Public Learning Art because what we build isn't just content to consume. It takes different shapes depending on what a moment calls for: a reflection, an installation, a conversation, a collection, sometimes a place people simply come back to again and again. Whatever the form, it exists for the same reason, to help people learn something, live a little more fully, and grow alongside each other.
Every day, people gather in coffee houses, libraries, museums, neighborhoods, workplaces, parks, and homes. These places already shape how we think, connect, create, and grow together.
Learning is a Lifestyle exists to make those opportunities more visible, more intentional, and more welcoming.
We believe culture is the classroom.
When curiosity becomes part of everyday life, communities become places where brilliance has more opportunities to grow.
Behind every collection is a series of stories, questions, and reflections that continue to shape this movement.
This movement continues to grow through conversation, collaboration, research, and shared imagination.
Whether you're a learner, educator, artist, civic leader, entrepreneur, or simply curious, you're welcome here!
